In May 1924, Lahore-based publisher Mahashe Rajpal printed the anonymous blasphemous pamphlet titled Rangeela Rasool, containing offensive attacks on the personal life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The publication triggered major public demonstrations and historical legal precedents across South Asia.
